The Rocca di Lonato Castle, also known as the Fortress of Lonato, lays on a hilltop and oversees the southern end of Lake Garda. Today, the castle hosts the Municipality of Lonato, an important library and the Museum of Ornithology. The museum displays a virtually complete collection of most of the bird species living in Italy.
