Tourists who have decided to come to Lake Garda for their vacation should keep in mind shopping sprees can be a highly rewarding experience.
Italians love fine clothing and fashion, which is why most of the shops only sell very high quality clothing. Lake Garda is, undoubtedly, a place to shopping for clothes. Shops in the resorts of Lake Garda aren't placed in large malls, but they rather stretch along the pedestrian streets located generally right in the center of the town.
Visitors can also buy shoes, bags, art products, paintings and sculptures generally made by local artists.
Since Italy is one of the most important European fashion centers, famous Italian fashion designers boutiques and shops thrive here. Shops at Lake Garda open Monday to Saturday, from 9am to 12:30pm and from 3:30pm to 7:30pm. Some shops are usually closed on Monday (in the morning), whereas in the tourist resorts shops stay open from morning to late in the evening (10pm), Mondays included.
Other attractions for keen shoppers refer to the open markets organized in most of the towns at Lake Garda. Visitors can buy fresh fruit and vegetables, Italian spices or even souvenirs and handicraft products.
Open markets take place throughout the Lake Garda towns and villages as follows:
Mondays: in Torri del Benaco, Bardolino, Peschiera del Garda, Sirmione, Moniga.
Tuesdays: in Desenzano, Gargnano, Limone
Wednesdays: in Riva Del Garda, Lazise, Gargnano
Thursdays: in Bardolino, Desenzano, Toscolano-Maderno
Saturdays: in Malcesine, Padenghe
